Description
Occasionally, USB dongles (and sometimes the parallel port dongles) are not being recognized in Windows 2000 and Windows XP. This can occur after applying Windows Updates or installing a new version of LANSA
The first troubleshooting step should be to install the latest dongle drivers available from Sentinel to see if this resolves the issue. Installing the latest dongle driver has already resolved USB dongle problems on both Windows 2000 and Windows XP.
You can download the latest driver from SafeNet's Web site: www.safenet-inc.com/support/tech/sentinel.asp
The dongle used by LANSA requires the Sentinel Protection Installer from this site. Please read the readme file also on the Web site as there may be extra steps involved before you can install the new driver (such as uninstalling the previous versions of the driver)
Note: LANSA does not have any dongle settings. If LANSA can't find it, it is not installed properly.
